Mary Beth is the Founder of the Breast Cancer Foundation of the Ozarks. She has a healthcare background having worked at St. John’s Health System, Community Hospices of America and Oxford Health Care. Mary Beth is a long standing community volunteer serving on various local and state boards. She started the Breast Cancer Foundation of the Ozarks in 1999 after being inspired by the story of her friend, Kristen O’Brien Hardy. Mary Beth continues to provide help and hope to local families impacted by breast cancer through her organization. Mary Beth is a breast cancer survivor and more recently has survived primary lung cancer.

Dwight holds a Juris Doctor degree from Washburn University School of Law and a Bachelor of Science in Public Administration from the University of Missouri. His trust experience comes from private law practice and bank trust departments. Dwight is a member of the Missouri Bar Association and the Springfield Metropolitan Bar Association and is past chairman of the Probate and Trust Committee. Dwight also serves on the Professional Advisory Council of the Community Foundation of the Ozarks, the Legal Services of Southern Missouri’s Campaign Cabinet, and is a director and treasurer of the Developmental Center of the Ozarks. In addition to being a member of the Greene County Estate Planning Council, he also serves on the Council’s board of directors and as the treasurer.

Raylene Appleby

|
Raylene is President and Co-Owner of PJC Insurance and has served in that capacity since March of 2001. Raylene has been a member of several boards including; United Way and FLIP Committee Member, Greene County 100 Club Member and Founding Member, Greene County Domestic Violence Shelter, Lost and Found, and a member of the South Street Christian Church. She is the 2009 recipient of the Queen City Sertoma Service to Mankind Community Service Award. In 2008, PJC Insurance was one of five organizations to be honored with the United Way of the Ozarks Pillar Award for outstanding community service. Raylene and her husband David have four children and six grandchildren. She enjoys spending time with her grandchildren, playing golf and traveling.

Ann Marie Baker

Ann’s education is in business, finance, compliance, lending and banking. She is the current President of the Southwest Region for UMB Bank. She serves on several community boards and has been named to the Most Influential Women in Business by the Springfield Business Journal. In addition, she has earned the UMB Leadership Award and the Sheri Clark Award, Junior League of Springfield. Ann is married and has an eleven-year old son. She enjoys outdoor winter activities and spending time with her family.

Brian Biggers, M.D.

Dr. Biggers is a surgeon with Crighton, Olive, and Dunn Surgical Group. He received his medical degree at Universtiy of Missouri Medical School and completed his residency at University of Missouri-Kansas City. He went on to continue specialized training at Baylor University Medical Center in breast surgical oncology. In addition, Dr. Biggers has participated in medical research projects and written various published studies.

Bucky (John W.) Buckner, M.D.

Dr. Buckner has contributed to the Breast Health of Women in Springfield and Southwest Missouri for over 15 years. He was a founding member of the Cox Breast Advisory Committee and was instrumental in starting the first Multi Disciplinary Breast Conference in Springfield. Dr Buckner is certified by the American Board of Surgery and a Member of the American College of Surgeons, the American Society of Breast Surgeons and the American Society of Breast Diseases. He is a principle Investigator with the American College of Surgeons Oncology Group, Breast Section, and actively participates in Breast Cancer Clinical Research. Dr Buckner is also participating in the Mastery of Surgery Program with the American Society of Breast Surgeons. Dr Buckner was the first Surgeon in SWMO to train in and perform Ductal Lavage (a technique to determine patients risk for breast cancer). Dr Buckner was also the first Surgeon to train in and place Mammosite, (a technique to give breast radiation in 5 days instead of 6 weeks allowing more women with breast cancer to preserve their breast). He has the most extensive experience in SWMO in placement of Mammosite and Contura. Dr Buckner has received the Red Cross Everyday Hero Award for his military duty; he has received the Springfield Chamber of Commerce Salute to Healthcare Award (2005) and has been a member of the Board of BCFO since 2000. Dr. Buckner dedicates over 75% of his practice to the care of women with Breast Cancer and Breast Disease and is the Director of the Missouri Surgical Center for Breast Disease (The Breast Surgeons of Ferrell Duncan Clinic).

John Bumberry, M.D.

Dr. Bumberry completed his residency at Henry Ford Health Systems in Detroit, Michigan. He is a member of the Fellow American College of Surgeons. Dr. Bumberry is a physician at St. John’s Clinic-General & Specialty Surgery. His specialty is general and trauma surgery in which he is board certified in general surgery.

Lauren is a graduate assistant at Drury University. She has completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Environmental Sciences at University of Missouri and is in the process of completing a master's degree in special education at Drury University. Lauren is involved in the Boys and Girls Club of Springfield and the First and Calvary Presbyterian Church. Lauren enjoys working with children, exercise and spending time with family and friends. |

Walter J. Gaska, M.D.

Dr. Gaska completed his medical school at State University of New York, his Internship at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse, NY and his residencies at St. Joseph’s Hospital Syracuse, NY and the Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, Ohio. He also completed his MBA in Business Administration at MSU in December of 2004. His specialty and board certification is in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He is a member of the American Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He has served on numerous medical boards most recently; Medical Director of St. John’s Foundation for Community Health, President and President Emeritus of St. John’s Physicians and Clinics, Co-Chair of Risk Management Committee of St. John’s Health System and Chairman of the Board, St. John’s Physicians and Clinics.

David Hart

David’s education is in business management and political science. He also has an Executive Masters degree from Missouri State University. David is the Clinic Administrator for Oncology-Hematology Associates of Springfield. He is actively involved in the Medical Group Management Association where he has served as President for both the local and national chapters. His years of service with the organization promote excellence and leadership in the medical management field. David enjoys music, tennis, golf and traveling with his spouse. He is actively involved with his church, First and Calvary Presbyterian Church and the Republic Community Band.

Dr. Hoos completed his residency and fellowship with the University of Oklahoma. He is a member of the American Medical Association, the American College of Physicians and the American Society of Clinical Oncology. Dr. Hoos is board certified in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology. His specialty is Cancer and Hematology. Dr. Hoos is a physician at St. John’s Clinic-Cancer & Hematology.

Linda has a background in education. She is a full-time Community Volunteer. Linda has been involved in Junior League of Springfield, Isabel’s House, Special Olympics, Springfield Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Springfield and MDA-Festival of Hope. Linda enjoys traveling, reading and gardening.

Brian is a portfolio manager at Pinnacle Family Advisors. Brian's primary focus is on managing a total return investment portfolio for his clients. Prior to joining Pinnacle Family Advisors, Brian worked for Morgan Stanley and Merrill Lynch as a Vice President, Financial Advisor. Prior to entering the financial service industry, Brian was a CPA with Ernst & Young in Kansas City. Brian graduated from Drury University with a double major in accounting and business administration. Brian is married to Kelly and has two daughters and one son. In his spare time Brian enjoys just about anything outdoors.
Brian has been involved with BCFO since 2003. Brian is currently President and serves on the investment committee.

Gary is the President and CEO of Liberty Bank in Springfield. He received his bachelor’s degree in Economics from MacMurray College and his master’s degree from Western Illinois University. Gary has attended various banking schools and has received a variety of banking awards and recognitions. He is serving as an advisory director for the Federal Reserve 8th District. His community involvement includes St. Vincent De Paul Society, The Kitchen and the Boys and Girls Town. Gary enjoys boating, fishing and golf in his spare time.”

Debi is a Realtor with Murney Associates, The Office of Patrick Murney. She obtained her Missouri Salesperson License in 1995 and continued her focus in the Buyer Specialist area. Debi has multiple recognition awards of service from the Ozark Empire Fair Board of Directors;Vendor of the Year, Home Builders Association of Greater Springfield. She has also has served on the Ozark Empire Fair Board of Directors and Home Builders Association of Greater Springfield Charitable Foundation Board. She is a member of Second Baptist church where she works with special needs children through MOPS. She is the proud mother of two children and enjoys biking and walking.

Dr. Prater completed medical school and her internship at the Washington University. She went on to the Jewish Hospital of St. Louis to conclude her residency. Her specialty is radiology in which she is board certified. Dr. Prater is associated with ACR, AMA, GCMS and MSMA and practices with Physicians for Breast Health.

Richard "Rick" Williams

Rick's education is in healthcare and business administration. He also served as a medic in the Army Green Berets. He previously worked as the CEO and co-owner of Community Hospices of America until his early retirement in 2004. During that period, he was a regular contributor to numerous health and management publications and served on numerous Missouri and national policy boards. He currently serves on several local director boards and volunteers regularly with a local community service organization. In 2005, Rick formed the SafeSpace Company to develop and market unique disinfecting and sanitizing products nationally. |

Jamie Whiteis

Jamie is the General Manager of Tanger Outlets. He oversees the marketing and operations of the shopping center. Tanger Outlets has partnered with the Breast Cancer Foundation of the Ozarks over the past few years in raising funds through the Pink Program. Jamie’s degree is from College of the Ozarks.

Paul Windisch

Paul’s education is in Communications, Marketing and Journalism. He is the Radio Group General Manager at Clear Channel Radio. Paul oversees the departments of five radio stations in sales, programming, promotions, online, production, events, business/accounting and administration. He is the 2000 ADDY Best Show award winner and also a graduate of RAB Academy. Paul has served on several other boards and been actively engaged with March of Dimes, the Humane Society, Ozarks Food Harvest, Boys and Girls club, United Way, DARE and Toys for Tots. Paul enjoys boating, fitness and sports.

Nadia Cavner

Nadia Cavner is the Executive Vice President of the Nadia Cavner Group at BancorpSouth Investment Services. She has been an investment representative for 17 years. Nadia has received the honor of being ranked as the top adviser nationwide with Franklin Templeton Investments, through their banking division, for eight consecutive years, and she has been showcased in Barron’s Magazine as one of the nation’s “Top 100 Women Financial Advisers” for six consecutive years.
Cavner also serves on the Executive Committee for the American Bible Society. She is a Trustee at the Brite Divinity School at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas. Nadia was appointed by the Governor to be Vice Chair for the Missouri Health & Educational Facilities Authority (MOHEFA). She serves on the Promise Campaign at Missouri State University and on the Advisory Council for the Missouri State University College of Education.

Virginia Fry

Virginia Fry is the co-Managing Partner of the Springfield office of Husch Blackwell Sanders. She is a trial attorney practicing in the areas of commercial litigation including fiduciary and employment litigation. She frequently defends management in wrongful discharge, harassment, discrimination and related state and federal employment claims. She also advises education clients with respect to the federal and state laws that regulate their operation.
Virginia is listed in The Best Lawyers in America for 2005 – 2010, and named by Missouri & Kansas Super Lawyers 2007, 2008 & 2009 magazine as a Top 50 female “Super Lawyer”. Virginia has served as the Vice Chairman of Public Affairs for the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce, the Board of Governors of the Missouri Bar, and as Chairman for the Springfield Board of Public Utilities.

Michele Kiser is the owner of Advertising Plus, a member of Springfield’s Best. She has served on the Board for Breast Cancer Foundation of the Ozarks since 2002. During that time she chaired Hooked on Dance and served in many other capacities. Michele is a three-year breast cancer survivor. |

She has served on several community boards including CASA, Ozark Greenways, American Red Cross, The Kitchen Foundation, Juanita K. Hammons Performing Arts, Gilloz Theatre Preservation, Drury University, and the Missouri Arts Council. She is currently consulting for O’Reilly Auto Parts.

Tom founded the Rankin Company in 1990, a company that specializes in the general brokerage of commercial real estate. In 2006 Rankin Company affiliated with the National Brokerage Firm Sperry Van Ness. Tom’s education is in Finance and Real Estate. He has also achieved the Certified Commercial Investment Member Designation (CCIM). Tom has been active on several community boards including, Southeast Rotary, Springfield Chamber of Commerce, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Boys and Girls Club, and the Community Blood Center of the Ozarks to name a few. |
