Breast Cancer Foundation of the Ozarks (BCFO) Offers Services to the Four States Region

SPRINGFIELD, MO. – Breast Cancer Foundation of the Ozarks (BCFO) announced the extension of services to the Four States region just over thirteen months ago. At that time, the BCFO board of directors agreed unanimously to increase BCFO’s commitment to the region by extending the safety net to clients across the state line. The initial fundraising in the four state area was done in conjunction with Barnyard Days, the Family Fun Farm event featuring the area’s premiere Arts and Crafts show. Over $12,000 was raised because of the involvement of Barnyard Days.

Since this announcement, BCFO has provided $72, 909.94 in direct financial assistance to Four States residents in treatment for breast cancer. Over $63,000 in assistance was provided to residents of Jasper and Newton Counties alone, with additional services being extended to residents of Barton, Cherokee, Delaware, McDonald and Ottawa. Services offered to the east of the listed counties are not included in these metrics.

The agency provides non-medical financial assistance to those in need through BCFO’s Client Assistance Program. Assistance has been provided for rent or mortgage, auto repairs, utility assistance, and auto payments. All bills are paid to invoice. Clients must be in current treatment for breast cancer with demonstrated financial need.
